Cape Town International Comedy Festival
Date: 30 Aug - 19 Sep 2010Venue: Baxter TheatreFollowing the Vodacom Funny Festival in July, the mother city prepares for another marathon of hysterics with the Cape Town International Comedy Festival. Sponsored by Nando's, the festival offers three weeks of laughter at the Baxter Theatre Centre and other venues. National and international comedians perform daily in the Main Arena, or in the Danger Zone if their material is controversial or downright rude. Afrikaans speakers may enjoy a joke or two in the recently added Bek-Lash zone and everyone can catch the Best of the Fest on Sundays. Street performers entertain all around town for the duration of the event, while the Late Show brings edgy material to the Bang Bang Club on selected days.
